Pirates in baseball: Zach Agnos pitches in first game back with Rockies

Zach Agnos got back into the swing of things in his first game back with the Colorado Rockies.

On Friday, he got his first relief stint since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. He gave up a hit and walk in 1.2 innings of Friday’s 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox. He lowered his ERA to 5.09 with the outing.

He made his Major League Baseball debut with Colorado on April 20. He was there until June 15, shortly after he returned from a leave after the death of his grandfather. He was 0-3 with a 5.48 ERA in 20 games with four saves over 21.1 innings. He struck out 12 and had a 1.31 ERA.

He pitched in four games for Albuquerque once he returned from Colorado, picking up a save on July 1 against El Paso.

  • Carson Whisenhunt, Sacramento RiverCats (Giants): Did not pitch in 9-6 win over Reno

  • Trey Yesavage, New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays): Did not pitch in 7-1 win over Portland
  • Carter Spivey, Akron Rubber Ducks (Guardians): Placed on 7-day injured list with right shoulder strain on June 12.
  • Trey Benton, Akron Rubber Ducks (Guardians): On season-ending disabled list

Single-A

  • Carter Cunningham, Vancouver Canadians (Blue Jays): 0-for-2 with two walks and a run in 9-2 win over Everett

  • Josh Moylan, Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees): 0-for-3 with walk and run scored in 7-4 loss to Brooklyn
  • Josh Grosz, Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees): Took the loss in a 7-4 Brooklyn win. Started and went five innings, giving up five earned runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. His record dropped to 4-7 and his ERA is now 4.04.
  • Tyler Bradt, Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals): Did not pitch in 9-4 win over South Bend
  • Jacob-Jenkins-Cowart, Beloit Sky Carp (Marlins): Did not play in 10-3 win over Wisconsin
  • Ryan McCrystal, Daytona Tortugas (Reds): 1-for-3 with run and two walks in 6-2 loss to St. Lucie
