It’s already Week 5 of the CFL season. While we’re celebrating July 4 this weekend, Canada has already had its national celebration and is in football mode again.
There are four games on the schedule starting tonight:
- Winnipeg vs. Calgary (Calgary won, 37-16)
- Hamilton vs. Toronto, Friday, 7:30 p.m.
- British Columbia vs. Montreal, Saturday, 7 p.m.
- Ottawa vs. Edmonton, Saturday, 7 p.m.
Here’s a look at the players from East Carolina who are playing in the CFL:
- DaShaun Amos, DB, Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Will start again in the secondary. Has six tackles this season. It’s the first game for Amos against his former team. He signed a free agent deal and left Toronto in the offseason.
- Stanley Bryant, OL, Winnipeg Blue Bombers: He started at left tackle. The Blue Bombers suffered their first loss of the season after starting 3-0. Saskatchewan is the only unbeaten team in the NFL.
- Justin Hardy, WR, Ottawa Red Blacks: Team still trying to find its identity after a 1-3 start. He is tied for 13th in CFL with 15 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown.
- Tyler Snead, WR, Montreal Alouettes: He won’t have Davis Alexander at quarterback, which could disrupt the offense vs. British Columbia. McLeod Bethel-Thompson will start again at QB. Snead is tied for 8th with 17 catches for 270 yards and a touchdown.
- Jeremy Lewis, Edge, BC Lions: He has not practiced in at least two weeks due to an injured foot. Status for Saturday against Montreal is uncertain.
- Hampton Ergle, OL, Toronto Argonauts: Back on the practice roster after one start this season.
- Parker Moorer, OL, Ottawa Red Blacks: On the practice squad after signing with team early last week.
