The Toronto Blue Jays secured a victory on Monday that helped kick off their series with the AL East-leading New York Yankees.

East Carolina baseball alum Jeff Hoffman got his second save in as many days as the Jays won, 5-4. The win put the Jays (46-38) two games behind the Yankees in the standings.

Hoffman got the first two outs on a pop-up and a strikeout. He gave up a single to Jasson Dominguez then got a flyout to end it. It was his 19th save of the season and lowered his ERA to 4.84.
