East Carolina baseball alum Josh Grosz is having the kind of season that may not sit well with his critics.\
Grosz is progressing nicely with the Hudson Valley Renegades. He is 3-2 with a 3.60 ERA in seven starts this season. He has struck out 45 in 35 innings and carries a 1.14 WHIP.
Ryan Garcia of Empire Sports Media wrote a column recently where he admitted he didn’t have the ECU alum among his top 30 prospects heading into the season, “an omission that he had made me look utterly foolish.”
Garcia writes about how Grosz’s pitching has him in line for a Double-A promotion this season. He wrote in part, “Grosz is one of the best strikeout pitchers in the South Atlantic League, and his high groundball rates keep the ball in the yard, as he’s allowed just three home runs to this point of the season.”
