Tyler Snead, Montreal top Grey Cup champs Toronto

The Montreal Alouettes opened the 2025 CFL season with a 28-10 win over the Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts.

East Carolina alum and Montreal receiver Tyler Snead had three catches for 34 yards in the win. His longest was a 19-yard catch in the first quarter.

Montreal led 15-3 at the half.

Toronto features ECU alum Hampton Ergle, an offensive lineman currently on the practice squad.

Saturday’s CFL action features Hamilton at Calgary along with Edmonton at British Columbia. It’s the first game for ECU DaShaun Amos, who sighed as a free agent after playing for Toronto last season. British Columbia features another ECU alum, Jeremy Lewis.
