Florida Marlins third baseman and ECU alum Connor Norby had two hits in his team’s 11-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.
He singled in the first but was erased on a double play. He singled in the eighth but was also caught in a double play.
Alec Burleson went 0-for-3 for the Cardinals. It was just the second time in Spring Training the two ECU alumni have met.
Agnos gets Spring Breakout save
ECU alum Zach Agnos got the save for the Colorado Rockies in Sunday’s Spring Breakout game with the Chicago White Sox.
Agnos struck out the first batter in the ninth inning then got the next two outs via groundout and fly out.

ECU alum Carter Cunningham made the most of his likely only appearance in Spring Training on Sunday.
He came on as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning for the Toronto Blue Jays and drew a walk. After a wild pitch moved him to second, he scored the last run on a double by Christian Bethancourt to give the Blue Jays a 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves.
Armstrong struggles again
Texas Rangers reliever and ECU alum Shawn Armstrong had another rough outing on Sunday, this time against the White Sox.
He came on in the seventh inning and pitched two innings, giving up three runs on four hits, two of them homers, with four strikeouts.
His ERA is now 6.00 in Spring Training in five games covering six innings.
