Former ECU football coach Mike Houston has landed a job with Clemson’s football team, ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting.
“Sources: Clemson is set to hire longtime college head coach Mike Houston to work with the defensive staff there. Houston won an FCS national title as the coach at James Madison and spent six seasons as the head coach at East Carolina.”

Houston would be the second former ECU Pirate to join Clemson’s staff. Last week, it was reported that Lonnie Galloway has joined Clemson as an offensive analyst, From 2003-04, he was the wide receivers coach at ECU. He coached Terrence Copper, who earned All-Conference USA honors while setting school records for receptions and receiving yards in a season. Copper went on to play in the NFL.
