According to a newly released social media report, East Carolina has found its next defensive coordinator.
ESPN college football writer Pete Thamel posted on X that the Pirates will hire Auburn linebacker coach Josh Aldridge. He has accepted a two-year deal. Details will be finalized in the next few days.

Aldridge also is the former defensive coordinator at Liberty.

Blake Harrell has been doing the defensive duties even after becoming the Pirates’ head coach. It’s expected that Aldridge will coach the defense in the Military Bowl against NC State on Dec. 29.
