Punter announces he’ll play final season at ECU

Punter Ryan Leavy has a new home.

He announced on social media on Thursday that he will play his final year of college football eligibility at East Carolina. Leavy spent the 2024 season at Duke as a backup punter. He announced on Dec. 4, 2024, that he was entering the transfer portal “for my last remaining eligible season.”

Leavy was a graduate transfer from Furman. At Furman, he had 26 starts in 30 games, punting 126 times for 5,089 yards (40.39 yards per punt). He put 45 kicks inside the 20-yard line with nine touchbacks.
