Game Two: East Carolina 8, North Texas 7
Morgan Johnson continued her impressive day with two hits, two runs and three RBI as East Carolina overcame six errors to sweep North Texas with an 8-7 win in the second game of the doubleheader and series finale.
The win marked ECU’s biggest comeback victory of the season.
North Texas plated four early runs due to some sloppy play defensively from the Pirates but ECU rallied in the bottom of the third as five runs crossed home plate.

The Mean Green tied the game up in the top of the fourth but East Carolina would retake the lead as Kanisha Anderson scored on a North Texas error and Johnson hit her second, two-run homer of the day to give ECU an 8-5 edge heading into the fifth inning.
North Texas hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth and pulled within a run on a sac fly in the sixth inning but the Pirates were able to get outs when they needed them to prevent any comeback from the Mean Green down the stretch.
Jordan Hatch (2-2) picked up the win in her last home game with four strikeouts tossed in 5.1 innings of work while Kendall Frost earned her fifth save of the year.
