ECU alum and Arlington Renegades wide receiver Isaiah Winstead had his best game of the young UFL season on Sunday.
Winstead had seven catches for 73 yards, including a beauty along the sidelines with the game tied at 3-3 against the Houston Roughriders. Arlington won the game, 11-9.
Winstead now has 11 catches for 92 yards in two games this season.
Arlington backup quarterback and ECU alum Holton Ahlers did not record any stats in Sunday’s game. He had two handoffs that led to touchdowns in last week’s win over San Antonio.
Fellow ECU alum Garrett McGhin started his second straight game at offensive tackle.

DC Defenders move to 2-0
The DC Defenders improved to 2-0 with a 17-12 win over the Memphis Showboats.
Former J.H. Rose star Cornell Powell played but did not record a catch. He did grab a two-point conversion for the final score. Receiver Chris Rowland took the handoff and tossed to Powell in the end zone.
He had two catches for 23 yards in the season-opening win over the defending champion Birmingham Stallions.
Birmingham Stallions bounce back
The defending UFL champion Birmingham Stallions bounced back from last week’s opening-season loss to the DC Defenders with a 21-12 win over the Michigan Panthers last Friday.
Former ECU coach Skip Holtz coaches Birmingham.
