Pirates in the postseason: ECU Alum in Minor League playoffs

The regular season in many of the Minor League Baseball playoffs finished on Sunday. Now comes the postseason

While there are still regular-season games to be played on the Double-A and Triple-A level, Class-A is set to crown a postseason champion.

ECU Alums Josh Moylan and Josh Grosz will begin the South Atlantic League best-of-3 divisional postseason for the Hudson Valley Renegades starting Tuesday against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Moylan is batting .246 with 8 homers and 42 RBI this season. Grosz is 7-8 with a 3.85 ERA and 131 strikeouts over 121.2 innings this season.

Carter Spivey and the Lake County Captains begin Midwest League best-of-3 divisional postseason play on Tuesday against the Dayton Dragons. Spivey is 8-1 with a 3.32 ERA and 96 strikeouts over 114.2 innings in 2024.

Ryan McCrystal and the Daytona Tortugas start the  best-of-3 Florida State League division playoffs Tuesday against the Palm Beach Cardinals. McCrystal is batting .256 in 39 games this season.
