ECU baseball alum Jeff Hoffman continued his hot start to the second half of the season with another save on Saturday.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, on Saturday. Hoffman gave up a hit and struck out one in the ninth inning to earn the save. The win kept the Jays in a comfortable position in the American League East, currently 57-41.

Hoffman got the save on Friday with three strikeouts in the first win over the Giants. He has 23 saves on the season now and lowered his ERA to 4.79.

He was also picked by SI.com to win the battle for the most saves in the AL. He’s currently in second place.

Josh Moylan

He had a big night despite Hudson Valley losing, 4-1, to Jersey Shore.

Moylan was 2-for-2 with a run and a walk. He tripled and scored in the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1. Despite the loss, he was named ‘Gade of the Game for Hudson Valley.
