by | Jun 8, 2025

East Carolina alum Jeff Hoffman is having a very good week.

The Toronto Blue Jays closer picked up his third save this week in a 5-4 win over the Minnesota Twins. Despite giving up a solo homer in the ninth, he recorded a strikeout and two flyouts to end it.

Hoffman picked up saves on Monday against the Phillies and Friday against the Twins. His ERA did inch up to 5.65.

Alec Burleson

He was 1-for-4 with an RBI in a 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Burleson singled with two outs and drove in a run in the eighth inning to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. The Dodgers tied it in the top of the ninth before the Cardinals won it in the bottom half of the inning.

He’s now batting .289 with Saturday’s performance.
