Pirates in baseball: Cunningham scores twice in Vancouver win

by | Apr 30, 2025

While East Carolina baseball was making some noise in its win Tuesday over Elon, the former players in pro baseball were relatively quiet.

In fact, most of the Pirates either did not see action or did not have a good night at the plate or mound. One player who did have a good game was Carter Cunningham.

On Sunday, Cunningham went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a walk and a run scored to push his average to .231 on the season. He was 5-for-10 with three runs and four RBI in his last three games. On Tuesday, he was 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs in a 15-9 win over Hillsboro. He walked and scored in the third and walked and scored in the seventh.
