Mondays are usually quiet in Major League Baseball. That was the case again, except in the case of Connor Norby.
The Marlins’ third baseman and East Carolina University baseball alum helped his team to an 8-7 win over the Chicago Cubs. He doubled and scored in the fifth inning to tie the game at 3-3.
Miami went on to win it in the ninth as manager Clayton McCullough, also an ECU grad, saw his team improve to 19-27 on the season.
Pitching today
The Cleveland Guardians’ second game is slated to have Gavin Williams pitch against the Twins on Tuesday.
Although it’s not listed on the Vancouver Canadians’ website, Trey Yesavage is slated to get his first start since being promoted from Dunedin.
