Alec Burleson played two on Thursday and continued his torrid June in both games.

Playing as the designated hitter, he helped the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox. He also played right field and first base in the second game, an 8-6 victory.

In the first game, Burleson batted 2-for-3 with a run and a walk. He walked in the first inning, reached on catcher’s interference in the sixth then singled and scored on a Willson Contreras homer in the eighth to tie it at 4-all.

The Cardinals scored later in the eighth and held on from there.

In the second game, He was 2-for-5 with a run and three RBI to raise his batting average to .313. He singled in the first then hit his three-run homer in the four-run third for a 4-1 lead.

St. Louis blew a 6-1 lead but won it with two runs in the 10th.

Burleson is now hitting .400 for June (24 for 60) with nine runs, three doubles, three homers and 10 RBI.
