Pirates in baseball: Alec Burleson does his part in win over Braves

East Carolina alum Alec Burleson played a big role in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 10-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday.

He was 2-for-5 with two runs scored. He singled and scored in the sixth to cut the deficit to 4-3, and again singled and scored in the ninth for an 8-4 lead.

He’s batting .250 for the season as the Cardinals improved to 10-14 on the season.

Jacob-Jenkins-Cowart

Went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI in a 7-5 loss by the Jupiter Hammerheads to Palm Beach. He had a sacrifice fly that tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth.
