Former East Carolina football standout and Greenville native Jeremy Lewis was one of four players invited to the BC Lions training camp.
Lewis, a linebacker who played at South Central High School in Greenville, earned the invite along with defensive back Travian Blaylock, offensive lineman Blaine Hoover and defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile.
Lewis tried out for the Lions during the team’s free agent camp in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. He was a five-year letterman at ECU, from 2019-23. He started 34 of his 54 games with ECU, recording 150 tackles, 81 solo, with 23.5 tackles for loss. He also had 11 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He also had two pass knockdowns.
He was named ECU’s Male Outstanding Scholar Athlete in 2023.
