ECU Alum Jeff Hoffman came on in relief for the Philadelphia Phillies and stopped a scoring threat by the Atlanta Braves in a 3-2 victory on Wednesday.
Hoffman ended the sixth with a double play, throwing just four pitches, after the Braves got two on off starter Aaron Nola with the score tied at 2-2. Hoffman dropped his ERA to 2.03 for the season.
