While East Carolina golf alum Harold Varner III shot even par on Saturday, his 4Aces GC teammate fared much better.
Patrick Reed shot -4 and holds a four-shot lead over Varner, currently tied for fourth, going into the final round of the LIV Golf Dallas event. Reed and Varner were tied for first after Friday’s first round.
Varner, who is tied with three other golfers for fourth, had birdies at No. 11, 13 and 17 but followed that with bogeys on No. 4, 8 and 10.
His 4Aces GC team hold a four-shot lead over Legion XIII, which jumped into a tie with Crushers GC, which held second place alone after Friday. Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters, Reed and Varner are at -12 overall.
