Harold Varner II tied for 32nd in LIV Golf season opener

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA — ECU Alum Harold Varner II is tied for 32nd after Thursday’s opening round of the LIV Golf season-opening Riyadh presented by Ma’aden.

Jon Meronk shot a bogey-free-10-under 62 to take the first-round lead. Varner shot 2-under par and is eight strokes off the lead.

In the team category, Varner’s 4Aces GC stands tied for sixth at 13-under-par. The Legion XIII team is in first place at 24-under-par.
