Spring Training is in full swing, and teams have begun the quest to improve their club and be prepared for the Major League Baseball season.
Cleveland Guardians Manager Stephen Vogt spoke to members of the media on Thursday about his team’s progress and areas to work on. One of those areas Vogt discussed was the performance of ECU alum and right-handed pitcher Gavin Williams.
“We want Gavin to get back into his delivery,” Vogt said, according to Cleveland.com. “Last year with the injury (right elbow) we felt he never caught his stride. He’s made some really good adjustments in his delivery to get his pitch shapes back. He really didn’t have his fastball at any point last year. To get the vertical movement back on his fastball, really opens everything else up.”
