Gavin Williams’ Spring Training puts him in spotlight, on fantasy boards

by | Mar 27, 2025

It’s amazing what one good Spring Training can do to a player’s perspective for the upcoming season.

ECU alum and Cleveland Guardians pitcher Gavin Williams struggled to a 3-10 season in 2024, battling elbow problems and inconsistencies. However, he was spectacular over the past few weeks, giving up four earned runs with 26 strikeouts, 13 hits, four walks and a 2.08 ERA over 17.1 innings.

GuardiansNation, a website devoted to the coverage of the team, is among the websites that speak positive things about Williams and the chances he’ll have a solid season. Williams is also getting a push among fantasy baseball sites, with NBCSports.com among those websites saying things like ‘I’m drafting a lot of Gavin Williams.”
