The East Carolina baseball program has landed a second pitcher from the transfer portal over the past 24 hours.

Thomas Paxton, who played for Belmont Abbey last season, posted on X on Tuesday evening that he will play for the Pirates in 2026. His news comes not long after former Liberty pitcher Joseph Webb also announced on social media that he was coming to ECU.

Paxton, a 6-foot-3 sophomore from Waxhaw and Cuthberson High School, was 3-2 with nine saves and a 2.50 ERA in 39.2 innings. He struck out 36 and walked 18 while giving up 15 runs, 11 earned, on 28 hits.
