Florida has announced baseball coach Kevin O’Sullivan will be suspended for the first three games of the 2026 season for his actions last June against East Carolina at the Conway Regional.
East Carolina was part of that regional and beat Florida in the first meeting. The Pirates played host Coastal Carolina late into Saturday night before losing. The NCAA moved the losers’ bracket game from noon to 1 p.m., something that didn’t sit well with O’Sullivan. Two videos show him shouting and cursing at officials about the news.
O’Sullivan later issued an apology after the Pirates won that Sunday game to end Florida’s season.
The news of O’Sullivan’s suspension was noticeably buried in a story about the team’s new recruits
“The suspension announced today reinforces Florida Athletics’ commitment to our standards, with Coach O’Sullivan accepting full responsibility for his behavior,” Stricklin said. “Sully has vowed to learn from the experience and serve as a better leader moving forward.”
O’Sullivan’s suspension will take place during the Gators’ opening weekend, which is Feb. 13-15 against UAB.
