IRVING, Texas – East Carolina graduate forward C.J. Walker has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week according to an announcement from the league office on Monday afternoon.

Walker scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench in ECU’s 80-79 win at UTSA on Saturday night where he hit the game-winning shot with just four seconds left to give the Pirates their third conference road win of the season.

The Sanford, Fla. native has been the Pirates’ leading scorer over the past two games, averaging 25.5 points on 60.7 percent shooting while also averaging eight rebounds over those two contests. Walker has also continued to get the foul line at a high rate, going 17-for-22 (77.3 percent) last week.

Walker and the Pirates will host UAB on Tuesday night inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
