ECU star Dixon Williams could begin Rookie League play soon after signing with Braves

by | Jul 19, 2025

UPDATE: Dixon Williams has signed his rookie contract with the Atlanta Braves.

However, when he does, he can expect to join the team’s Rookie League team quickly. The Florida Coast League Braves are busy playing games and introducing college players to the game. BatteryPower.com’s Matt Powers writes that when Williams does sign his deal, he can expect to start playing right away.

The FCL Braves could start seeing an infusion of new talent as soon as this morning. Recent draftees Dixon Williams, Landon Beidelschies, and Zach Royse are all on the roster, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if more additions to the roster came ahead of game time. If he plays, Dixon Williams is the guy to watch, but even without him, there is still Jose Perdomo, Junior Garcia, and the recently promoted Michael Martinez.”

Williams was taken in the fourth round (136 overall) of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft on Monday by the Atlanta Braves.
