Winston Wright Jr. is hopeful his next stop is the NFL.
The ECU wide receiver announced on social media Thursday that he would enter the NFL draft. He’s not expected to play for the Pirates against NC State in the Military Bowl on Dec. 29 in Annapolis, Md.

Wright received several accolades this season, most recently being named to the Football Writers Association of America All-America Second-Team.
According to ECUPirates.com, Wrigtht “tallied 1,255 all-purpose yards (114.1 per game) for the Pirates in 2024. He registered 91 yards on the ground, 556 receiving yards (third on team), 18 punt returns and 590 kickoff return yards to rank sixth in The American. Wright Jr., a midseason All-America selection by The Sporting News, caught 54 passes, scoring a team-best eight touchdowns. He returned 22 kickoffs, posting a 26.8 average which included a 94-yard scoring return at Charlotte marking his third career return for a score (first at ECU).”
