Daithi Quinn, a 6-4 guard from Quincy, Mass., has committed to play basketball for East Carolina University starting with the 2025-26 season according to an announcement by head coach Michael Schwartz on Wednesday.

Quinn is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and is the second-ranked prospect in Massachusetts by 247Sports and New England scouting report. He is currently in his senior season at Tabor Academy after averaging 23 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals per game as a junior. Quinn was named All-NEPSAC First Team, was an All-ISL First Team Captain and finished second in voting for the Gatorade Player of the Year in Massachusetts. Quinn also played AAU basketball for the Middlesex Magic, averaging 17.3 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor over the summer.

In his first season at Tabor, Quinn averaged 18 points and four rebounds to earn a spot on the NEPSAC First Team and was named All-ISL First Team.

“Daithi is what we would call our kind of guy,” Schwartz said. “He takes academics seriously. He loves the game. He competes. He wins. He’s been well coached at Tabor Academy by Coach Whitmore and formerly by Coach Crotty with the Middlesex Magic. The Pirates gain immediate toughness, physicality, and scoring with DQ’s signing.”

He spent his first two seasons starring at North Quincy High School, averaging 23.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game to be named the Patriot League’s Keenan Division MVP in 2021-22. Quinn recorded five games with 30 or more points with the Raiders including a career-high 44 points and the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic selection helped lead the North Quincy to a Division II Elite Eight appearance and a 19-5 record. Quinn averaged 15.3 points and six rebounds per contest to help guide the Raiders to a Patriot League Cup semifinals appearance as a freshman.
