ECU alums DaShaun Amos, Jeremy Lewis play in CFL openers

The last two games of Week 1 of the CFL season saw two East Carolina alums play with different results.

The British Columbia Lions beat the Edmonton Elks, 31-14. ECU alum and rookie Jeremy Lewis played at linebacker and registered a tackle.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats fell to the Calgary Stampeders, 38-26. DaShaun Amos, who signed in the offseason after playing in Toronto, finished with two tackles at defensive back.

Week 2 of the CFL season features the BC Lions against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. It will be the season opener for ECU alum and OL Stanley Bryant. The two teams will play Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Montreal and Ottawa will also square off in a battle of ECU alum receivers: Justin Hardy for Ottawa and Tyler Sneed for Montreal.

Hamilton hosts Saskatchewan and Calgary is at Toronto.
