ECU alum and Akron Rubber Ducks pitcher Trey Benton was placed on the full-season injured list, the Cleveland Guardians announced on Wednesday.
He pitched for the Double-A Ducks in 2024, earning a 4-1 record with a 3.45 ERA in 23 relief appearances. He had a save and 30 strikeouts in 31.1 innings.
He went on the disabled list on July 22, 2024, with an unspecified injury. He was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Aug. 2, 2024, ending his season. He was activated on Oct. 28, 2024.
Cleveland drafted Benton, 26, in the 15th round, pick No. 460, in 2019.
