East Carolina plays its final road midweek game of the season Tuesday when it treks over to Elon’s Latham Park for a non-conference contest. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Pirates (25-19) defeated the Phoenix 7-5 in Greenville back on April 2nd and look to sweep the season series for the second-straight year.

ECU lost two of three to visiting Tulane over the weekend in American Athletic Conference play and sits in a three-way tie with the Green Wave and Florida Atlantic for fourth place in the league standings. The top eight teams will qualify for the conference tournament May 20-25 in Clearwater, Fla.

The Pirates are batting .275 as a team with 63 doubles, three triples, 53 home runs, 196 walks drawn and 52 stolen bases. Braden Burress tops the lineup and is second in the American Conference in batting average (.402) as well as on base percentage (.518). The pitching staff sports a 5.02 earned run average with 415 strikeouts and 186 walks in 380.0 innings.

East Carolina is 9-6 in true road games this season, winning a league series over UAB in Birmingham the last time it visited foreign soil.
