East Carolina announces four-game men’s basketball series with Appalachian State

The East Carolina men’s basketball team will play a four-game home-and-away series with Appalachian State starting this December.

East Carolina Men’s Basketball has announced a four-game series with App State, with the first contest taking place on Dec. 11 inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

The series will alternate sites each season as the Pirates will travel to Boone to clash with the Mountaineers at the Holmes Center in 2026, then host App State in Minges in 2027. The Pirates will conclude the series with a return trip to Boone in 2028.

East Carolina and App State have met 64 times with the last contest coming in Boone on Nov. 12, 2019. The Pirates lead the all-time series 37-27 and have won three of the last four meetings. The last time that the Pirates faced off with the Mountaineers in four consecutive seasons was from 1998-99 to 2001-02.
