It was a big night for ECU alum DaShaun Amos and the Toronto Argonauts.
Amos had an interception he nearly returned for a touchdown as the Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and fellow ECU alum Stanley Bryant 41-24 in the 111th Grey Cup.
Toronto captured its 19th Grey Cup, the most in CFL history. The Argos have won in their last eight appearances dating back to 1991 and improved to 8-0 all-time against Winnipeg in the big game.
Amos’ interception was part of a big defensive second half for Toronto, which pulled away and denied Winnipeg the title in its third straight try.
