The Dallas Cowboys signed East Carolina football alum Linval Joseph during the 2024 training camp to fill a void on the defensive line. They could do that again this season.
Joseph played 20-25 snaps per game last season, 24% of the snaps on the team. According to TheLandryHat.com, Fansided.com’s Cowboys’ website, Joseph could be called in again to help.
Joseph became a free agent after the season and hasn’t signed with a team.
Jerry Trotta wrote in part, “Joseph was impactful on the gridiron and in the leadership department. He played limited snaps, but he posted a 77.5 pass-rush grade last season, per Pro Football Focus. That ranked 12th out of 219 qualified interior defenders.”
He also wrote, “Assuming the front office isn’t going to go big-game hunting for a nose tackle, signing the 329-pound Joseph for the vet minimum would be a fine final addition to the rotation.”
If Joseph returns, that would make two ECU football alumni on the team. Shavon Revel Jr. was drafted in the third round by the Cowboys.
