Another publication has ECU alum and Miami Marlins third baseman Connor Norby set for a breakout season in Major League Baseball this season.
MSN.com has a slideshow of its top 10 emerging stars to watch out for. Norby is ranked No. 9. He is a rookie with the Marlins who came on strong last season after being traded from the Baltimore Orioles. He batted .236 with 42 hits, 32 runs, nine homers and 20 RBIs while stealing three bases.
He’s played second base, his natural position, but has been busy in the offseason getting familiar with playing third base.
He had his first hit, a double, in his Spring Training opener on Sunday.
