ECU alum Carter Spivey made the most of a late call-up from the Akron Rubber Ducks in Double-A to the Columbus Clippers in Triple-A.

Spivey got the call on Saturday and was pitching for the Clippers in their 8-5 win at Lehigh Valley. He came on in the fifth inning and pitched through the eighth, giving up a hit, a walk and striking out three. He threw 47 pitches, 26 for strikes.
Outside of a wild pitch, he was spot on for the Clippers. He also got five groundouts and a flyout out of the 12 batters he faced.
