Carter Cunningham starts season at Class A after Spring Training, feel-good homer

by | Apr 3, 2025

Carter Cunningham had quite the Spring Training.

He didn’t play much for the Toronto Blue Jays but everyone will remember that homer he had to give the Blue Jays the win over the New York Yankees. Now, he hopes to continue that success by playing for the only minor league team in Canada.

Cunningham was assigned to Class-A Vancouver and will start the season on Friday. A story by BlueJaysNation.com talked about his rise from a successful senior season at ECU last season to that homer and the start of this season in the minors.

Ryley Delaney wrote in part, “If his collegiate stats and early professional career have shown anything, Cunningham has a lot of pop in his bat with the ability to avoid strikeouts and take walks. Time will tell if he develops into a player the Jays can use on their roster, but he’s also shown positional versatility, playing in both corner outfields as well as first base.”
