Bradley Zayac latest to leave ECU baseball, enter transfer portal

by | Jun 10, 2025

Bradley Zayac is the last member of the East Carolina University baseball team to enter the transfer portal.

On3.com’s Jonathan Wagner posted the news to his X account on Tuesday morning. Zayac was the starting pitcher against Coastal Carolina in the Conway Regional final and took the loss despite giving up the only run through 7.1 innings.

Zayac, a freshman lefthander from Chesapeake, Va., turned 19 two days before pitching against Coastal Carolina in the regional. He gave up four hits, struck out four and walked one in that game.

For the season, he was 1-4 with a 5.40 ERA in 36.2 innings. He gave up 28 runs, 22 of them earned, on 41 hits with 26 strikeouts and 12 walks.

He joins a core of pitchers and other players that includes Lance Williams, who got the win that eliminated Florida from the Conway Regional, Ian Williams and Brad Pruett. Williams announced he’ll go to Maryland while Pruett made the decision to play for Georgia.

A number of other ECU players have announced their intention to stay, including Ethan Norby and Braden Burress.
