There sure does seem to be a lot of discussion about the future of ECU alum and Denver Broncos defensive back Ja’Quan McMillian.
The Broncos recently drafted Jahdae Barron to play in the backfield with star Patrick Surtain and Riley Moss. That has left questions about McMillian’s future in Denver. It comes after a 2024 season where he held receivers to 6.8 yards per target with 10 pass deflections and two interceptions, one for a touchdown against the Browns.
McMillian, 24, did not sign a multi-year contract, instead getting a one-year, $1.03 million tender. That’s another reason why he could be expendable.
Last Word On Sports’ Anthony Palacios suggests this would open the door for McMillian to land with the Carolina Panthers. He would be part of one of the best secondary units emerging in the NFL, joining Tre’Von Moehrig, Mike Jackson and Jaycee Horn “as a reliable slot cornerback, filling in backup duties.”
Palacios also mentions the New Orleans Saints and Washington Commanders as possible new homes for McMillian if a trade is made.
