Pirate Nation:
We’re trending toward a sellout for this year’s Kickoff Luncheon, presented by Golden Corral, set for Wednesday, August 20 in Minges Coliseum. Don’t wait – reserve your spot now for the annual event that marks the official start of the football season.
You’ll hear from head coach Blake Harrell, offensive coordinator John David Baker and first-year defensive coordinator Josh Aldridge. In addition, guests will have a chance to sit with our Pirate football players, participate in a raffle with exclusive prizes, and go home with the 2025 Pirates Football poster.
Football Season Tickets Update
With kickoff around the corner, we’re excited to share that season ticket sales are trending well above last year’s pace, closing in on 15,000 sold.
All premium seating – including suites, loge boxes, and Trade Club seats in TowneBank Tower – is sold out for the fourth straight year. We have limited Williams-Clark Club seats remaining, so act quickly if you are interested.
Filling Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is vital to the success of our entire department. A football weekend in Greenville generates critical revenue for our city and region and is a terrific opportunity to showcase our great University.
Any account that has not renewed their season tickets will need to call the Pirate Club or Athletics Ticket Office to ensure their seats. You can reach the ticket office at (252) 737-4500 or the Pirate Club at (252) 737-4540.
Single-game football tickets and away game tickets are on sale now exclusively to Pirate Club members until August 12. The demand from Pirate fans for our first two road games was no surprise. We sold out of our allotment of tickets for the Coastal Carolina game and NC State has limited amount remaining.
New Premium Seating Option
As we continue to enhance the fan experience at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and elevate Pirate Football, we are excited to debut a new premium hospitality space in 2025.
Located inside the Pete & Lynn Murphy Center, we will have a Tented Deck & Lounge overlooking the west end zone that will provide a first-class experience for fans looking to host clients, reward employees, or simply enjoy Pirate Football with family and friends. The space offers:
- Indoor and outdoor seating with cocktail tables and barstool seating
- All-inclusive food and beverage service
- Private restrooms
- A dedicated member of our hospitality team for personalized service.
This exclusive space will be available on a single-game basis, giving groups flexibility and access to a high-end gameday atmosphere. Individual tickets will not be sold for this area. More information can be found on this space by visiting www.ecupirateclub.com/newhospitality. If you’re interested in learning more or reserving the space, reach out to Pirate Club Executive Director of Premium Seating Macy Gladson at gladsonm22@ecu.edu.
Tailgate in Style at the New Tailgate Plaza
Tailgating is a cherished tradition at ECU, and we’re excited to expand on that legacy with the launch of Tailgate Plaza in 2025. Situated on the former site of Scales Fieldhouse – just steps from the stadium – we are providing a turn-key experience for Pirate fans.
Let us do all the work as we set up a 20×20 tent, tables, chairs, and coolers stocked with refreshments. We have tents to sell for each football home game.
Tailgate Plaza will feature a beer garden, live music, a video wall with college football action on the screen, and we will have Pirate student-athletes sign autographs at selective games. The Pirate Walk is also being incorporated into the area with coaches and players passing through. Please note the Pirate Walk will now begin two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff.
We are looking forward to incorporating the Tailgate Plaza into our already unique scene outside the stadium on gameday. More information can be found on this space by visiting www.ecupirateclub.com/tailgatelikeapirate. Ready to secure a space in this one-of-a-kind Pirate tailgating experience? Construction Updates
Our Grady-White Boats Athletic Campus is buzzing with activity as we continue to invest in the future of Pirate Athletics, thanks to the incredible support of our Pirate Club members.
Here’s a look at the projects underway:
- Isley Performance Center:Construction is in full swing on this state-of-the-art, 85,000 sq. ft. training facility that will serve all sport programs. See the construction camera here.
- Scales Field House: Recently demolished to make room for a vibrant new green space to be used throughout the year including a new tailgate opportunity for football games.

If you already purchased your ticket, you could add a bus ticket for just $40 per person.

Academic Excellence
Our 400-plus student-athletes continue to break records in the classroom. This year:
- 324 Pirate student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 American Conference All-Academic Team, topping the previous mark of 314 at the end of the 2020-21 academic year.
- For the second year in a row, 10 of our sport programs put at least 80 percent of its roster on the American All-Academic Team including four teams with 100 percent of the roster (baseball, lacrosse, men’s golf, and women’s golf).

Head coach Cliff Godwin and the Pirates Baseball team earned the honor for a 10th consecutive season.
