Hoffman improved to 6-2 and lowered his ERA to 5.52.

He picked up the win in a wild 12-10 victory over Salt Lake.

Whisenhunt, now 7-4 on the season with a 4.10 ERA, started and went 5.2 innings, giving up four runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts and a walk. He struck out two in the third and sixth innings before his night ended.

Sacramento helped his cause with seven runs in the third inning and three more in the sixth. Whisenhunt’s four runs he gave up all came in the sixth.
