Spring Training: Zach Agnos, Carson Whisenhunt, Shaw Armstrong see mound time

Two ECU alum got to pitch in the same game for their respective teams in Monday’s 2-2 tie between the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies.

Giants pitcher Carson Whisenhunt made his first appearance in Spring Training, coming on in the eighth inning. He faced three batters, forcing two groundouts and a flyout.

Zach Agnos also came on in relief for the Rockies. It was his second appearance after pitching Monday. Agnos came on in the fifth inning and forced a lineout, pop out and fly out to the three batters he faced.

Shawn Armstrong’s first pitch

ECU alum and Texas Rangers pitcher Shawn Armstrong made his first appearance as a member of the Texas Rangers in his team’s 11-3 win.

Armstrong came on in the fourth inning and gave up a hit but no runs. Before he came in, the Rangers exploded for nine runs in the top of the inning.
