Former ECU football coach Skip Holtz’s Birmingham Stallions navigated a two-minute drive in the final moments to beat the Arlington Renegades 10-9 in Friday’s UFL game.
Both teams are now 2-1 on the season.
“What a game,” Birmingham Stallions’ head coach Skip Holtz told Jesse Kelley after the game. “We kept that one exciting until the very end. I am proud of this football team because they continued fighting, competing, and never giving up. I want to send a special thank you to the crowd for staying around all night to get the chance to see an incredible finish.”
Holtz is now 2-0 against the Renegades in two seasons.
Former ECU standout Isaiah Winstead had three catches for 29 yards. Former Pirates quarterback Holton Ahlers did not play while former ECU offensive lineman Garrett McGhin started his third straight game.
