Pirates officially announce signing of Vito Perkovic

by | Jun 6, 2025

East Carolina Men’s Basketball has officially announced the signing of forward Vito Perkovic on Thursday.

Perkovic averaged 12.6 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game last season at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. The Zadar, Croatia native shot 42 percent from behind the arc on seven attempts per game with Hamilton Heights in his final season and was ranked as the sixth best player in the state by Prep Hoops Tennessee.

“Vito brings a unique skill set with his position,” head coach Michael Schwartz said. “At 6’10, his IQ, shooting and passing move the needle for the Pirates. His enthusiasm for ECU and conviction for winning have already made a strong impression.”

Perkovic also competed for the Croatian national team from 2021-24 with his most recent international competition coming in the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds to go along with 1.3 assists in six games played. In the 2022 FIBA U16 European Championship, Perkovic averaged 13.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in seven games. Perkovic also competed on the summer circuit last year with Bradley Beal Elite.
