Pirates in baseball: Trey Yesavage has rough end to good start; Connor Norby homers

by | Jun 19, 2025

Trey Yesavage had a bad ending to another good start on Wednesday.

The East Carolina baseball alum pitched in his second game for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. It was the team’s second of a doubleheader against Somerset.

Yesavage was solid in the first two innings, giving up no runs and no hits with two strikeouts. It’s the third inning where he ran into trouble.

He gave up four runs on four hits and three walks before being pulled. New Hampshire got a run back in the fourth but could not get closer, meaning Yesavage took the loss.

He’s now 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA for the Fisher Cats. Overall, he’s still having great numbers for the season:

  • 4-1 with 2.67 ERA in 13 starts over 57.1 innings, 96 strikeouts, 26 walks, 21 runs, 17 earned, 28 hits, 0.94 WHIP

Connor Norby

Connor Norby broke a streak of sorts on Wednesday.

The East Carolina baseball alum hit a solo homer in the fifth inning in a 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. It was his fourth homer of the season.

He finished 1-for-3 at the plate.

Fellow ECU alum and Marlins manager Clayton McCullough and his team fell to 29-43 with Wednesday’s win
