Pirates in baseball: McCrystal helps Daytona beat Jupiter, Jenkins-Cowart

by | Apr 16, 2025

It was a relatively quiet night for East Carolina baseball alumni in the majors and minors. However, two players did have a pretty good night.

Ryan McCrystal was 1-for-3 with a double, two runs and two walks in 17-6 win over Jupiter. Fellow ECU alum Jacob Jenkins-Cowart did not play in the game for Jupiter.

McCrystal walked and scored in the fourth inning to give Daytona an 8-4 lead. In the fifth, he doubled and scored to extend Daytona’s lead to 11-4. He walked again in the seventh but did not score.

Carter Cunningham

Cunningham was 1-for-5 with an RBI in 11-8 loss to Eugene. He doubled in a run to tie the game at 4-4 in the fourth and was on the tail end of this nice defensive play.
