The Toronto Blue Jays secured a victory on Monday that helped kick off their series with the AL East-leading New York Yankees.

East Carolina baseball alum Jeff Hoffman got his second save in as many days as the Jays won, 5-4. The win put the Jays (46-38) two games behind the Yankees in the standings.
Hoffman got the first two outs on a pop-up and a strikeout. He gave up a single to Jasson Dominguez then got a flyout to end it. It was his 19th save of the season and lowered his ERA to 4.84.

— Trey Yesavage takes the mound for the first time for New Hampshire since he learned he will pitch in the MLB Futures Game on July 12.
— Gavin Williams will pitch for the Guardians against the Cubs.

- Alec Burleson, St. Louis Cardinals: 0-for-4 in 7-0 loss to Pirates. Finished June batting .317 (32 for 101) with 13 runs, six doubles, six homers and 21 RBI. His on-base percentage was .333 and his slugging percentage was .554.
- Shawn Armstrong, Texas Rangers: Pitched one inning in a 10-6 loss to Orioles. Pitched the 10th inning and gave up a solo home run while striking out one. His ERA rose to 3.25.
- Gavin Williams, Cleveland Guardians: Off Monday. Scheduled to pitch Tuesday against Cubs
