East Carolina baseball alum Alec Burleson may be starting to heat up at the plate, if the long ball is any indication.
He hit a home run for the second straight day as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-3, on Monday.
Burleson hit a two-run homer in Sunday’s second game of a doubleheader with the New York Mets. It was his first of the season This time, he hit a solo shot in the third inning that tied the game at 2-2.
He was quiet at the plate after that, finishing 1-for-4, while playing at designated hitter.
